Elena S. Danielson, director of the Hoover Library and Archives, was awarded the National Order for Merit (rank of Comandor) of Romania

Presidential decree no 100-101 bestows the National Order for Merit (rank of Comandor), based on Article 94 (a) and Article 100 of the Romanian Constitution and Article 3 (3), Article 4 (1), 6 (A, III), and Article 11 of the Law 29/2000 on the High Award System of Romania.

With the high recommendation of the prime minister of the Romanian government, the president of Romania grants Ms. Elena Danielson, director of the Hoover Institution Library and Archives, the National Order for Merit (rank of Comandor), for her important role in the preservation and development of the extensive Romanian collections of the Hoover Archives, for her special support to Romanian researchers, and for donating copies of I. G. Duca's and Nicolae Titulescu's archival collections to Romanian cultural institutions.
